‘Cedars – Besharre – Qozhaya Valley (Qadisha)’ One Day Tour

Tour start at 09:00 from your hotel and back around 17:00
300 sunny days! that’s Lebanon.
A blue shiny sky this morning takes us to the village of Besharre in the North of the country. 90 minutes by car from Beirut. Here comes the village square, 15 minutes later up in the mountains rises the Cedars forest… A 2000 year’s old cedar tree in the middle of multiple souvenirs kiosks covers the main street! Looks nice!
Let’s have a hike in the protected forest…  “Cedrus Libani” (Cedar tree of Lebanon) is the symbol of Lebanon the land of the Cedars… I will tell you why, as well as much information, details, myths and beliefs as I (your Guide) escort you during this lovely day…
Our next stop is the Gebran Khalil Gebran gallery. It is located down town Besharre. Who is Gebran Khalil Gebran? Do we still call him “the Prophet” his nickname?  How many books he wrote and how many languages were translated to? Is his famous book still a best seller? And his paintings, what do you think of them? All this and much more inside this humble old monastery converted into a nice gallery half curved in a giant rocky mountain…
Minutes later we drive down deep the valley, yes deeper, and much deeper! The Kadisha valley or the “Sacred Valley” as the locals calls it. Breathtaking sceneries, wonderful views, water cascades (in spring) and many curved shapes in the surrounding mountains…  Here come a 14th century hermitage and monastery… Quiet observance required…
NB: Variation of temperatures and unexpected weather conditions might occur at 2000 meters altitude then down to 300 meter altitude in one day. A jacket and boots are indispensable (November/April).
Please note that this tour is not operational in snowy days and severe weather conditions.
