Responsibilities
Job Description - Scheduler
A production scheduler is responsible for coordinating and optimizing production schedules to ensure timely delivery of products while managing resources effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop Production Schedules: Create and manage daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on sales forecasts and production capacity.
- Coordinate with Departments: Work closely with various departments, including operations, purchasing and sales to ensure all components are available for production.
- Monitor Production Progress: Track the progress of production activities and adjust schedules as necessary to meet deadlines and resolve any issues that arise.
- Analyzing production specifications and plant capacity data to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements
- Updating production schedule to include changes, availability of raw materials, and capacity constraints
- Assessing and identifying any issues that might impact the production schedule and implementing corrective actions where necessary
- Ensuring that all necessary resources are available for the production process, including labor, materials, and machinery
- Inventory Management: Maintain inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of raw materials.
- Reporting: Compile reports on production progress, inventory levels, and any production problems to inform stakeholders (SIOP)
