Wise Wheeler is seeking experienced OTR professionals for a long-haul lane that prioritizes efficiency and driver comfort. We operate primarily within the Midwest and Southern regions, focusing on high-volume freight corridors that keep you moving. This position is a 1099 contract role designed for drivers who are self-motivated, safety-conscious, and ready to maximize their miles.
The Work & Route:
- The Lanes: Consistent regional OTR running throughout the Midwest and South. You will avoid the congestion of the Northeast and the mountainous terrain of the West Coast.
- Schedule: This is a predictable long-haul rotation. You will be on the road for 3 weeks, followed by a guaranteed 5-day home block for a full reset.
- The Freight: Primarily Dry Van freight. We focus on reliable, no-touch loads to ensure your clock is spent driving, not waiting at docks.
- Dispatch Style: Professional, one-on-one dispatch. We aim for high-mileage consistency to hit your weekly targets of $2,100–$2,500.
Equipment & Standards:
- The Trucks: We provide late-model, well-maintained tractors. Our fleet is equipped with APUs and Inverters to ensure you stay comfortable regardless of the weather in the South or the Midwest.
- Safety Standards: We maintain a high safety rating and require all drivers to uphold these standards. A Clean MVR is a non-negotiable requirement for this role.
- Logistics: Drivers are provided with Pilot & Flying J fuel cards and access to weekly cash advances to handle road expenses efficiently.
Minimum Requirements:
- Current Class A CDL.
- 2 Years of verifiable OTR experience (Required).
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no major recent violations.
- Fluent in English to ensure clear communication with dispatch and customers.
Start at $0.65 CPM with an average weekly gross of $2,100 – $2,500.
Monthly take-home between $8,000 and $12,000.
3 weeks out, followed by 5 Full Days at Home.
Weekly direct deposit, $200/week cash advances, and fuel cards (Pilot/Flying J).
Pet Rider Program
$100/day Layover and $25 for every extra stop.
Referral bonuses and paid vacation after your first year.
